February 26 - March 1, 2026
Overview
Booth B11

Jane Lombard Gallery is pleased to participate in the 2026 edition of Frieze Los Angeles with a group presentation of new and recent works by Margarita Cabrera, Adam de Boer, and Massinissa Selmani. Across sculpture, textile, and drawing, the artists engage with a language of cultural hybridity, using landscape to investigate the experience of relocation. Margarita Cabrera reshapes U.S. border officer uniforms into indigenous flora, embroidered with narratives of recent migrants. Her life-sized cacti sculptures anchor the booth in an installation that mimics desert topography. Employing traditional Javanese batik, Adam de Boer represents Los Angeles landscapes in the aftermath of recent fires. His series titled “Reconstruction Sites” offers a glimpse into a city rebuilding itself. For de Boer, batik functions as a poetic medium that forges a personal connection, carrying cultural memory into the landscape of his current Los Angeles home. Presented among walls sheathed in clouds of his own making, Massinissa Selmani’s surreal drawings blend elements of humor and tragedy to explore forgotten histories. His subtle yet thoughtful works intertwine documentary images with fabricated elements, pointing to the ways environments shape and confine us.
