JLG Projects: Lana Kova: Further Away
JLG Projects presents: Lana Kova Further Away. Through totems, mirrored surfaces, and delicately cast porcelains, Lana Kova investigates the realms of escapism, the eternal boundlessness of the universe, and the meditative spaces of dark contemplation. Scientifically trained, she draws on biology and mathematics to reveal nature’s inherent perfection while remaining firmly in abstraction. Her ongoing series, Totems, composed of soft rounded forms arranged vertically, echo the female form. Some sculptures take on a mirror-like quality, with a metallic glaze that invites self-reflection in a diffused haze, altering with each viewer’s position. Her hand-sculpted urchin shapes create a quiet void, offering intimate spaces of contemplation and comfort. Across the exhibition, her anthropomorphic sculptures embody a duality, operating between earth and the infinity of outer space, to open spiritual realms where boundaries dissolve and the unknown becomes a place of solace.
