Emmet Duggan
Combining colorful birds and modern interiors, Emmett Duggan's paintings are experiments in adaptation. Born out of a time of self-reflection and isolation, each work imagines a new state of evolution by placing different species of birds into the role of the consumer. Amusing in their absurdity, the works look at ways we reveal and define ourselves through acts of conspicuous consumption.
Emmett Duggan (b. 1977) lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee.
Duggan received a BFA from Boston University and an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. His work has been featured in exhibitions at Candita Clayton Gallery, Pawtucket, RI, and K Space Contemporary, Corpus Christi, Texas.
